Mario Odyssey features loads of different outfits, many of which are purchased using in-game currency from the shops in various kingdoms throughout the game world. Is Mario really Mario without those dungarees? Well, yeah, I guess - and you've got the option now to dress him up in a variety of outfits. but those outfit changes are usually in spin-off games and without so much player choice. We've seen Mario in other outfits often, and he does capture enemies and possess them in this game.
The ability for Mario to change his outfit in Super Mario Odyssey feels a little weird and wrong at first. That red and blue outfit is so outdated now - so switch it up with some amiibo unlocks.
